To use it, you have to first install your own configuration files by running (this is done only once): % /usr/local/office52/program/setup and choosing the "Standard Workstation" installation. This creates the ~yourdir/office52 directory and deposits approx 2Mb of data there. After that, run: % /usr/local/office52/program/soffice and that brings up the whole suite. The program creates a link in your KDE start button under your "personal" links (you have to log-out log-in to see them the first time). StarOffice is the best Linux Office suite that does pretty much what Microsoft Office does. It also reads and imports Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and some other types of files. Reviews say that it does a good job doing the importing. There is a list of features at http://www.sun.com/products/staroffice/5.2/features/;$sessionid$NQPL1KQAACACXAMTA1FU4GQ Please, let me know about problems/suggestions, - Luis
